Who can see my child's profile?
Only parents who belong to the same play group can view your child's profile. Play groups are closed — access is exclusively via personal invitation links that you control.

Are photos of children stored?
No. spielmit.eu uses only emoji avatars instead of real photos, consistently protecting your children's privacy.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored exclusively on servers in the EU (Frankfurt) via Google Firebase. GDPR and German data protection law apply.

How is spielmit.eu different from a WhatsApp group?
WhatsApp groups are not designed for this purpose: cluttered, no availability matching, no structured requests. spielmit.eu offers a weekly schedule for time slots, automatic matching of free slots, request status tracking and an integrated chat — all in one place.
Can I manage multiple children?
Yes. You can add as many children as you like to your family account and manage individual availability, interests and group memberships for each child.
Can both parents use the account?
Yes. With family access you invite your partner via a link. Both parents then see the same children, groups, playdates and messages.
Does spielmit.eu work as an app on my phone?
Yes. On Android, spielmit.eu is available as an app on the Google Play Store — simply download and install. On iPhone and iPad, you can install spielmit.eu as a web app via Safari: tap the Share icon (□↑) and choose "Add to Home Screen". In both cases you get your own home screen icon, full-screen display and push notifications.
How do invitation links for groups work?
As a group admin you can create a new invitation link at any time. You choose between two types: a single-use link is automatically invalidated after the first use — ideal for personal invitations. A multi-use link remains valid permanently — handy for a QR code in the kindergarten hallway that many parents can scan. Groups without an active code can generate a new link at any time.
How do I install spielmit.eu as an app on my phone?
On Android: Download spielmit.eu for free from the Google Play Store. The app is automatically installed and appears on your home screen and in the app drawer. On iPhone / iPad (Safari): Tap the Share icon (□↑) in the bottom toolbar and choose "Add to Home Screen". After installation you will find spielmit.eu like any other app on your home screen. You can find the Play Store link or iOS installation guide at any time via Settings → "Install app" in the app.
How do I manage my child's availability?
Open your child's profile — you'll find the weekly schedule there. Click on the hour cells to specify when your child is available for playdates during the week. The weekly schedule serves as the recurring baseline for every week. Changes are saved immediately and visible to all parents in your shared groups.
Can I exclude specific days from the availability?
Yes. In your child's profile you'll find a link below the weekly schedule called "Manage day overrides". There you can completely cancel availability for specific days — e.g. during holidays, illness or a day trip — or override it with different times. These day overrides take priority over the weekly schedule and are automatically reflected in the Playdate Finder for other parents.
What is the Spot Request and how do I use it?
The Spot Request is designed for spontaneous playdates — when your child wants to play today or right now. You select your child, set the time and activity, and send the request to an entire group or specific children. All requested families are notified. As soon as one child accepts, the other requests are automatically withdrawn.
How does the Playdate Finder work?
The Playdate Finder shows you at a glance which children from your groups are available in the current week. Select your child, navigate through the weeks and click on a matching time slot to directly propose a playdate. The Finder automatically takes into account the weekly schedule, day overrides and existing playdates.
Will I be notified about new requests?
Yes. spielmit.eu sends you a push notification on your phone when a new playdate request comes in, someone accepts or declines your request, or you receive a new message. Additionally, you receive a daily summary email for unread notifications. You can enable push notifications in the settings.
Can I chat directly with other parents?
Yes. A chat is automatically created for every playdate where you can discuss details like meeting point or time. You can also start a chat with other parents independently of playdates — via their profile or a child's profile.
What are 1:1 connections via QR code?
With the QR code play card, you can give your child a personal card to hand out. When another child (or their parents) scans the QR code and registers with spielmit.eu, a private 1:1 connection is automatically created between the two children — no group invitation needed. Both children will then appear in each other's playmate finder.
How do I print the play card for my child?
Open your child's profile, scroll to the "Connections" section and click "Print card". A print-ready card opens with your child's emoji avatar, name and a QR code. Use your browser's print dialog to print the card or save it as a PDF. You can also copy the link and share it e.g. via WhatsApp.
Can I mark playmates as favorites?
Yes! In the playmates list, tap the star icon next to any child to mark them as a favorite. Favorited playmates automatically appear at the top of the list, so your most important contacts are always easy to find. Favorites are private — only you can see which children you've marked.

What happens to my data when I delete my account?
When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed: child profiles, group memberships, availability and playdates. Messages are anonymised. You can request a full data export in settings beforehand.
